Glazing Off-Job Course Dates
The Glass and Glazing Institute will hold the following courses in 2007. Apprentices and Employers will receive information
about the relevant course and boarding accommodation approximately six weeks before the start of the course.
Apprentices who live more than a day's travel from Wellington can book air travel which will be reimbursed to the value of
a super thrifty fare. Be sure to book as soon as you know which course you will be attending. JITO also provides a $50 per week
accommodation subsidy.
All apprentices need to complete their First Aid unit standards 6400, 6401, 6402. Ask the First Aid provider such as St Johns
or Red Cross to advise NZQA, to ensure these unit standards are added to your record of learning. And the good news is -
if you complete your first aid unit standards in your first year of your apprenticeship you will be reimbursed $45 by JITO.

First Aid - Courses run for the Wednesday of each week of a Stage
One course from 5pm to 9pm. Units 6400, 6401 and 6402 are taught and
assessed. These units are compulsory for both National Certificate
qualifications. JITO arranges for the First Aid courses to be available
at the Glass & Glazing Institute in Lower Hutt.
If you are a JITO Glass or Joinery apprentice please phone JITO
if you need to get your First Aid units. There may be a place available
on one of the courses.
